Streak ends, but Newts take series

NEW CARLISLE - The franchise-record winning streak has come to an end.

The New Carlisle Newts dropped the first game of a three-game set on Sunday, before rebounding to win the series against the Hudson Lake Heat, 0-3, 8-1, 10-6.

New Carlisle's victory in the finale was the franchise's 700th all-time win.

The Newts are 23-4 on the season and will need to win just one game next Sunday against the Olive Township Mechanics to clinch their first division title since 2017. First pitch is set for 1:20pm ET at Migley Field.
