Soggy Sunday sweep of 'Spins

NEW CARLISLE - The New Carlisle Newts (6-3) lived up to their amphibious name on Sunday afternoon, sweeping the Mishawaka Meatspins on a rainy day at Migley Field, 3-0, 8-4, 2-1.

Matt Soos returned to his Cy Young form of 2024, earning three complete game victories on the mound. Soos allowed just five runs the entire day.

Brett Mason and Tyler Shupert provided most of the offense for the home team. Each hit four home runs in the series. Mason drove in six runs, while Shupert batted in five. Koby Keck also went yard in the opener and knocked in two runs.

New Carlisle hosts the Flat Rock Cyclones next Sunday, May 31 at Migley Field. First pitch is scheduled for 1:20pm ET.
