Six straight! Newts are streaking

NEW CARLISLE - The New Carlisle Newts (9-3) swept the Flat Rock Cyclones, 5-0, 7-4, 3-2, on Sunday afternoon at Migley Field.

The Newts received another spectacular outing on the mound from Matt Soos. Like last week, Soos pitched three complete game victories. In the series opener, the Newts ace allowed just one hit.

Offensively, Brett Mason continues to lead the way for New Carlisle's club. Mason hit six home runs in the series - including a walk-off solo shot in the finale to cap the sweep.

New Carlisle hosts the Glen Lee Skeeters next Sunday, June 7 at Migley Field.
