MISHAWAKA - The New Carlisle Newts pulled off a massive upset on Sunday afternoon at Rose Park, defeating the Granger Panthers in the best of three National League Division Series, 6-5 (F/7), 6-7, 15-8.
New Carlisle flipped the script on Granger from the regular season matchup, when the Panthers took two of three at Migley Field. Granger had represented the National League in the previous two ORWBL World Series.
The Newts advance to the National League Championship Series to face the County Line Knights. The best of five series will be played on Sunday, August 20 starting at 12pm ET. The Knights will host Games 1 and 2 at Castle Park, with the remainder of the series being played at Migley Field.
