Newts swept in World Series rematch

UNION MILLS - The New Carlisle Newts (7-8) rode into Walter Metts Field on a six-game winning streak for a rematch of the 2024 ORWBL World Series with the Mill Pond Pandas on Sunday afternoon.

In contrast to last September when they left Union Mills with the championship trophy, the Newts wrapped their road trip with three straight losses, 9-10, 8-10, 5-8.

DJ Hill was the bright spot for the visitors, going 12 for 19 in the series with seven home runs and nine RBI.

Matt Soos got right at the plate as well, hitting .500 for the day with a home run.

New Carlisle is back in action at home on Sunday, June 22 against the Glen Lee Skeeters. First pitch at Migley is set for 1:20pm ET.
