Newts smacked by Skeeters, salvage finale

Updated: 18 hours ago

NEW CARLISLE - It was a busy weekend at the corner of Bray and Dunn.

Migley Field hosted the 2025 ORWBL All-Star Game on Saturday night, with the National League emerging victorious, 21-22, 15-14, and 8-3. On Sunday afternoon, the NL's charter franchise didn't fare as well.

The New Carlisle Newts (8-10) were roughed up by the first-place Glen Lee Skeeters, 14-33, 14-30, and 20-11.

Garrett Curless led the way for the home squad with nine home runs in the series, while Tyler Shupert hit eight bombs of his own. However, the offensive firepower could not keep up with the visiting Skeeters.

New Carlisle is back on the road next Sunday, June 29 to face the Hudson Lake Heat at 1pm ET.
