Newts advance in Wild NL Wild Card Round

Updated: Jul 31, 2025

NEW CARLISLE - Just two weeks after getting destroyed by the County Line Knights in the regular season, the New Carlisle Newts swept the Knights out of the playoffs on Sunday afternoon, 10-6, 19-10.

It was a chaotic day on the National League side of the postseason bracket. Three of the four match-ups were won by the lower seed, including the sixth-seeded Newts knocking out County Line.

The ORWBL Postseason will pause next week for Hometown Days, and will resume on Sunday, August 3. The Newts will host seventh-seeded Mishawaka, who upset Glen Lee, in the National League Division Series.

I read the Newts advance in the Wild NL wild card round news and saw how this win puts them into bigger postseason play after their strong season, which must feel exciting for fans and players alike. It took me back to last semester when I felt swamped with tasks and even had to rely on assignment help UK when I was stuck trying to organise all my work and stay calm. Seeing the Newts move forward reminded me that sticking with something through hard moments can lead to big opportunities and good memories at the end.
