NEW CARLISLE - The New Carlisle Newts (3-3) will open up Migley Field for another season of wiffleball on Sunday afternoon with a match-up against the Glen Lee Skeeters (3-3).
The teams crossed paths twice last season. In the regular season, the Newts took two of three, 21-7, 4-5, 9-3 on May 23. Due to a delay in opening the Glen Lee ballpark in their inaugural season, the series was played at Parts Unknown, the former home of Cult West.
In August, the squads clashed in the opening round of the ORWBL Postseason. The Skeeters emerged victorious, 10-5, ending the Newts season.
New Carlisle is 26-16 all-time on Opening Day at Migley Field.
