NILES- After a six-game season opening home-stand produced only 14 runs, the New Carlisle Newts (5-4) were hopeful a trip away from Migley Field would kickstart the sluggish offense. Unfortunately, the woes continued as the Newts dropped two of three to the Great Lakes Godfathers, 2-3 (F/8), 1-3, 4-3 (F/7).
NEW CARLISLE- It was a new day and a new opponent for the Newts (4-2) on Thursday night, as the South Shore Silver Sluggers (1-5) visited Migley Field for the first time. However, it was a very similar result as Opening Day, as New Carlisle took the first two but were unable to finish the sweep, 1-0, 3-0, and 0-1 (F/7).
