VALPARAISO - The offense continues to sputter for the New Carlisle Newts (4-5), who dropped two out of three to the Cabo Yabos on Sunday afternoon, 1-3, 5-2, 6-14.

NEW CARLISLE - Historic Migley Field has a new look for 2016, as it celebrates its 10th anniversary and the 10th season of Newts wiffleball at the park.

 

Most notably, the infield dirt has been sodded over, giving the ballpark an all-grass surface.  The dimensions have also changed, as the marquee and backstop were moved south about 15 feet.

LA PORTE - The New Carlisle Newts (1-2) still have not found an answer for Jared Emmons. The southpaw held the Newts offense in check all afternoon, as the Galena Marsh Dabbers (2-1) won the Opening Day series, 3-4, 7-1, 4-3.

Another chapter in the New Carlisle-Rolling Prairie sports rivalry has reached its conclusion.


When it was all said and done in 1966, the little town on the hill had dominated the series on both the hardwood and the gridiron.  In fact, New Carlisle never lost a football game to Rolling Prairie, winning all six matchups between the schools.
